Passing The Torch Through The Arts - Is Bill Cosby Dead? - Free Preview
Free preview of BILL COSBY IS DEAD?
Starring Evelyn Clarke, Stephen M Jones,Lerone Simon, Pat Monasterial and Michaela Talley
What if you were in bed with your wife and a report flashes onyour TV screen with news that you are dead? Then calls flood in withcondolences. This really happened to Mr. Cosby, one of my childhood heroes. Inhis own words, "I asked Camille. Honey do I look alive to you? I don'teven have a headache." It made him take a look at his life, as do all neardeath experiences. That is the premise for this Musical Theater homage to agenius. We highlight his comedy, his personal relationships, trials, successesand failures. All framed by the biggest hits of the '50's, '60's, '70's, '80'sand '90's .
Bill Cosby was a pioneer in television and entertainment. He wasthe first Black leading man; his rugged good looks and his everyman appeal madehim the universal hero, universal comedian and later the universal Dad, becausehe always put his humanity before his race. He was actually ridiculed for it,but he endured to become one of the most successful comedians of all time. Thisis his story. |

Howland Chamber Music Circle - Jeremy Denk, Piano
Pianist Jeremy Denk has steadily built a reputation as one of today’s most compelling and persuasive artists, with an unusually broad repertoire. He has recently gained considerable prominence and glowing reviews for his last-minute substitution for ailing colleagues at Carnegie Hall and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. When asked to return to the Howland Center, he offered to play two concerts focused on the Mozart Sonatas.

Howland Chamber Music Circle - Alessio Bax, Piano
Italian pianist Alessio Bax, now resident in New York, counts an Avery Fisher Career Grant among his many prizes. Following his New York debut at the Metropolitan Museum, the New York Times felt he “is worth getting excited about.” His recital will comprise Rachmaninov’s Ten Preludes, the same composer’s transcription of two Kreisler pieces, and Aprés une lecture de Dante by Liszt.
